My Thoughts

This might be my first Rachel Skatvold book, I'd have to check to be sure. I find I like her writing style.

How could I predict, when Kendall and Carly discuss the house they purchased that this would be a disaster? Hmmm...maybe the sight unseen acquisition of a home.. Anyway, I expected broken windows, missing floorboards, critters, and a falling roof. I imagined a real nightmare.

The theme of trust winds throughout Her Merriweather Hero. Can Kendall trust Carly? Can she trust Tyler? Can she trust God?
I admit to being frustrated with Kendall's micromanagement of Carly. As adults, sisters, business partners, and roommates, I don't know how Carly can handle Kendall's control. Clearly, Kendall's control isn't helping Carly grow. As Kendall learns to trust God, she does change. Can she trust Tyler to God's care?

Overall, a good book, a quick read, and a clean, sweet love story. If you've read any of the earlier books of the Independence Islands books, you'll want to be sure to read Kendall's story.
