Rebekah Reads: Booked for Love Book Review, October 2026
Book clubs have always been about more than stories. What happens when a group of faith-filled matchmakers uses their love of books to pair hearts?
Matchmakers have been around long before musicals began singing their praises. Seniors at church, friend groups, and even families try to pair people of like faith, shared passions, or familiar community. But what if your people, book people, got together and drew two book-loving (or soon will be!) hearts together? It’s a match made in literary (if not literal) heaven! (Amazon)
I feel like the proud book-aunty on this one.
This book started in January, in an online book group,
when someone asked for a connection for her relative
who just needed to meet a nice person to date.
I said this needed to be a book or a series
and tagged author Malissa Chapin.
Lo & behold, nine months later,
"Booked for Love" has been born.
I enjoyed reading the nine short stories from nine authors and a variety of genres.
These book clubs have matchmaking in common -- they could match anyone with a friend, a community, a solution, or a sweetheart.
A single librarian? The book club has a match for you.
A book-loving nephew? The book club has a match for you.
A girl with an AI bot for a boyfriend? The book club has a match for you.
A grieving grandson? The book club has a match for you.
Stalker after you? The book club has a match for you.
Thief robbing your coffee shop?
The book club has a knitting-needle-wielding match for him.
Single teacher? The book club has a match for you.
I guessed matches and perpetrators, snickered,
and was sad for some of the characters
in nine small-town book clubs.
You will, too.
A great read for autumn.
Grab a latte & a cozy blanket and enjoy!
What are you & your book club reading this fall?
