Murder Goes Solo
None of this would have happened if the Steinway had been delivered on time.
Well, if the prologue doesn't get you interested in reading a cozy mystery, I don't know what will.
If you're a fan of Wisconsin, small towns, music, piano, mystery, family, sleuthing, coffee, reading, stories, new authors, and/or friends, the first book of the Piper Haydn Murder Mystery Series has got you covered.

Piper Haydn is on the case when murder comes to peaceful Cranberry Harbor, Wisconsin.
With her piano recital hours away, Piper’s last need is a piano problem—or a murder problem!
When her new piano arrives with the body of her ex-fiancé inside, suspicion rests on Piper. To avoid a murder charge, she must shift her attention from music to murder. With a killer at large, Piper calls off the recital and closes the academy.
Believing that she and her friends can solve the murder, Piper tries to clear her name and discover what happened to her secretary Lisa.
As the investigation crescendos, Piper leans on the support and creativity of her best friend Roosevelt and fellow music teacher Trefor to help solve the crime. Can Piper and friends solve the mystery before the killer solos in on another victim?
My Thoughts
I devoured the Trixie Belden detective series as a kid and I'm pretty sure the grown up Trixie Belden and Piper Haydn would be the best of friends, they'd probably set out to unravel the mystery together. I loved the characters in Murder Goes Solo. From wild and zany to staid and stoic, and with everyone in between, I won't forget the residents of Cranberry Harbor, Wisconsin. On a recent trip through northern Wisconsin, I wanted to stop & see the town, visit the coffee shop, grab a yummy pastry, and catch sight of a fictional character or two, that's how well-developed and loveable they are. Can faith and friends see Piper through the accusations and investigation?
And, I have to wonder, is there a romance, or two, brewing?
I can hardly wait for the next mystery in the series.
My Favorite Quote
She sat still enjoying the sunset until peace
flooded her heart. “God. I’ll praise You for peace
and that beautiful sunset. Thank You.”
